Janet Emmons obtained her M.A. in English and Educational
Specialist degree from the University of Iowa. She completed her
M.S. in Psychology from California Polytechnic University. In her
private practice, she has worked with many equestrians, helping them
overcome fear, performance anxiety, low self-esteem, anger and other
emotional blocks to their riding progress. She has trained with Barbi
since 1986. Her own experiences as a therapist and rider helped her
realize that dressage is a great metaphor of life. The challenges
we face in riding, such as staying centered, improving our connection,
and preparing for transitions have implications for the way we conduct
our lives.
